Elaine M. Najarian, BS RN, 72, longtime resident of the Smithfield area, died peacefully, early Saturday, the 15th of May, 2021 at home surrounded by family.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Richard Mark Servoss and Helen Elizabeth (Sullivan) Servoss.
Elaine received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rhode Island College in May, 1977. She started her career as an LPN at Roger Williams Hospital and worked her way up to staff RN in the Emergency Room. Elaine served in the USAR attaining the rank of Captain and served in the 455th Field Hospital in the USAR. Before her retirement, she had worked in Quality Management at the Veteran’s Hospital in Providence.
She had also worked at Agency Nurse at the Department of Correction in Cranston, Eleanor Slater Hospital- Zambarano Unit in Pascoag, and North Bay Manor in Smithfield.
Elaine loved good food, playing the banjo, the beach, socializing and spending time with her family. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
Elaine was the beloved wife of the late George Henry Najarian and mother of the late Brandon Najarian. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine Mary (Bradley) Iadevaia of Johnston, her grandchildren: Paul Iadevaia, Brittany Willard of Lincoln, Ian Willard, Tara Penate, her beloved great grandsons: Nathaniel, Ashton, Jeremiah and George. She was the sister of Denise Servoss of Smithfield, Richard, George and Robert Servoss and the late William Servoss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
