WORCESTER - Mrs. Rita M. (Buffone) Czechowski, 91, passed away peacefully with her family at her side at her home on Sunday May 16, 2021.
Rita was born on December 8, 1929 in Worcester, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria (Cronhignano) Buffone. Loving wife to the late Donald R. Czechowski who she lost in 2007.
A lifelong resident and educated through the Worcester schools, Rita worked at Worcester Envelope as a box handler for over thirty years.
Rita was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish – Our Lady of Loreto Church, a member of the Women’s Guild and the Leisure Club at the church as well. She also served as a Eucharist minister at the church for several years.
She enjoyed being with her family, cooking Sunday dinners and spending holidays together.
Rita is survived by her son Thomas S. Czechowski and his wife Lisa, a daughter, Susan E. Manoogian and her husband Gary, two grandsons, Simon Manoogian and his wife Sharon, Kevin Manoogian and his wife Kaylyn; a great grandson, Owen Manoogian, and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Angelo, Domenic, Louis, Joseph, Henry, George, Robert and Frank Buffone; Louise Bellizzi, Sophie Corron, Irene Borowy and Christine Swenson.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd Worcester at 11:00am. Her visitation hours will be on Wednesday morning May 19th from 9:00am to 10:30am at FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch Street Worcester, Ma. 01604. Interment will follow in St Joseph Cemetery in Webster, Ma. For those attending, facial coverings are respectfully required and social distancing measures will be in place.
