Grace Wheelis Taylor McBrayer, 92, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021, at her daughter’s residence in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley and the Rev. Todd Garner officiating. Mrs. McBrayer will be buried at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado.
Mrs. McBrayer’s grandsons, Bob McKenzie, Vince Weldon, Randy Sellars, Dale Goff, Brett Williams and Jacob Fletcher will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 19, 1929 in Irwin County, Mrs. McBrayer was the daughter of the late Hollis David Wheelis and Elsie Iwilda Horton Wheelis. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Elmer Taylor; her second husband, Clarence Richard McBrayer; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Wayne Montgomery; two brothers, Cherald Wheelis and Martin Wheelis; and four sisters, Reba McDonald, Wyolene King, Ira McDaniel and Agnes Swilley. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado.
Mrs. McBrayer is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Homer Danny and Candace Taylor of Adel; four daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Bobby Weldon, Debbie and Troy Goff, Tammie and Gerald Fletcher, all of Tifton and Brenda and Fred Sellars of Lenox; one sister, Jeanette Culpepper of Lake Park; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
