FIOLA, William J. “Bill” Age 86, died peacefully on May 16, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (Whitcher) Fiola. Loving father of Michelle Fiola-Reidy and her husband Bill Reidy of Westwood, John W. Fiola of Arlington, Paul A. Fiola of Norton and Judy K. Fiola and her husband John Ice of Norwood. Loving grandfather of Rebecca Reidy, Janine Reidy, Andrea Reidy, Alex Ice, and Evan Ice. Son of the late Alfred and Helen (Jordan) Fiola. Brother to Helen Monahan of Dunedin, FL, Rita MacQuarrie of Clearwater, FL, Mary Giancioppo of Needham, Marianne Sweeney of Attleboro, the late Frederic Fiola and late Loretta Jones. Bill is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Dedham. He attended Dedham High where he excelled in both football and track and field. After high school, Bill attended Northeastern University College of Engineering majoring in electrical/electrons engineering. He worked the majority of his career in the aerospace and defense industries. In recent years he was an usher at St. Mary’s, enjoyed bowling, was very involved with the Dedham Retired Men’s club, and attended many senior citizens’ occasions with close friend the late Marilyn Keegan.
Visiting hours are at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Wednesday, May 19 from 4-8pm. Funeral from the funeral home Thursday, May 20 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
