Maria Gomes (101) of Brockton died May 16th peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Livio Gomes.
She was born in Mosteiros, Cabo Verde, daughter of the late Hermonge Galvao and Maria Goncalves. Maria will be remembered for her great sense of humor always cracking jokes and sharing stories with everyone. Maria loved cooking, walking, swimming in the beaches of Cabo Verde, gathering with family and was one of Jehovah Witness at the Kingdom Hall in Brockton.
Maria is survived by 4 sons, Alfredo, Mario and José Gomes all of Brockton and Eugenio Gomes of New Bedford, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandmother and 6 great great grandchildren. Maria will be terribly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Wednesday May 26th from 7-9 pm. Services in the Funeral Home Thursday May 27th at 11 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton.
