Auburn – Francis H. “Frank” Goyette Jr., 89, a longtime Auburn resident, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after an illness.
Mr. Goyette was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis H. Goyette Sr. and Eva M. (Nadeau) Goyette. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and later attained his Bachelor’s Degree from Clark University.
Frank worked for many years as a physics and science high school teacher for the Town of Shrewsbury and was well known throughout the district for his many productions of “Sing Out” while at the high school. Frank also served as the music director for the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel – St. Ann Parish in Worcester for over 30 years.
Frank had a large circle of friends that will greatly miss him, including his partner of 27 years, Donat Bergeron and close friend, John Kullas. He loved music, which was evident in his long tenure as music director at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel – St. Ann Parish, and he would never turn down an opportunity to speak or give his interpretation about the operas. He had a passion for photography and enjoyed taking many trips to his favorite places in Rocky Neck and Eastern Point in Gloucester. When Frank was at home, he would often be found overseeing the care of his meticulous gardens in his backyard.
Funeral and burial services are being held privately in Notre Dame Cemetery 162 Webster St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Frank may be made to a charity of your choice.
