Obituary

Resia Medor of Dorchester passed away on May 15, 2021.
Résia Médor affectionately known as "Bouboune" was born May
01, 1924 in Aquin, Haiti.
She was the only child of Lamercie Gourdet & the first born child of
Velcius Medor. Résia was the eldest of six children, Carmen,
Michael, Andréa and Lucien Medor. She is survived by her brother
Velcius Medor. Résia met Ernest Drouineaud and of their union
they had six children.
After Ernest’s passing Résia left Haïti with her kids in her early 40’s
and came to the United States to pursue a better life. She came to
America in the early 70's during a time where there wasn't any
structure in place to help immigrants especially those from Haiti.
Life was difficult for her trying to raise her family alone. However,
she worked hard and maintained her faith in God to achieve her
dreams of providing a good education to her children.
Bouboune was a quiet and extremely kind person, she was the
matriach of her family. She earned everyone’s respect and
admiration. Though she was quiet, there was fierceness about her,
that kept her kids disciplined and focus on living life the right way.
She had a love for gardening and took great pride in her flowers.
Her great love aside from her flowers and her children was
spending time in adoration of our Lord, as well as praying to the
Virgin Mary. There was not a Charismatic prayer be that it was a
Jericho, Neuvaine a la Vierge, or La mer Rouge that she was not in
attendance always accompanied by her daughter Maggie.

Resia was pre-deceased by two of her children Nestly, and Shirley, she is survived
by Marie -Marthe, Erno, Frantz & Maggie. Her grand-children
Peggy, Reginald, Nestly Jr, Michelle, Hubert, Ougeyan, and
Patricia, and many great -grand children as well as many nieces
and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all of her children and
family.
