Worcester: Mildred M. (Huikku) Mason, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her granddaughter, Marie Mason, of Worcester, 6 children-Donna Damuni of Worcester, Roland Mason and his wife Marsha of Leicester, Diane Generelli of Worcester, James Mason and his wife Jane of TN, Richard Mason and his wife Renee of Worcester, and Jon Mason and Mary Geoffrion of Leicester; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Roland E. Mason, a daughter Janie Mason, and by a brother.
Millie, as she was affectionately known, was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Matilda (Suomu) Huikku. She graduated from North High School in the class of 1942 and attended Clark University. She was the president of the Form Roll Die Corporation in Worcester and worked there until the age of 95. She was a member of the Living Word Church. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking for friends and family at her home, hosting bible studies, and playing scrabble. She was a joy and blessing to everyone around her.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. All current covid protocols must be followed. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Living Word Church Tyler Prentice Dr. Worcester.
