DUDLEY – Stanley J. Wilk, Jr., 76, died Thursday, May 13, 2021 in Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard after a period of declining health.
He leaves a sister, Joan E. Cormier of Gardner; a nephew, Kevin Nivala and his wife Linda of Port Charlotte, FL; 2 nieces, Laura M. Soldani and her husband Kevin of Norwalk, CT, and Sara A. Miedema and her husband Christopher of Webster; a great-niece, Courtney Nivala; 2 great-nephews, Logan and Sawyer Miedema; his sister-in-law and caregiver, Jane E. Wilk of Dudley; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest J. Wilk in 2020 and by his nephew, Keith Nivala in 1989.
He was born on February 11, 1945 in Webster, the son of Stanley J. Wilk, Sr. and Helen (Augustynski) Wilk and lived in Dudley all his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1963 and completed studies at the former Dudley Hall Secretarial School.
Mr. Wilk worked as a shipper and wrapper at Bates Shoe Company, at Anglo Fabrics Company and at B & W Footwear, all in Webster, at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley and at Convenient Graphics in North Grosvenordale, CT.
He belonged to Saint Andrew Bobola Church. He enjoyed reading and donated his books to the Pearle L. Crawford Memorial Library. He also volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center in Dudley.,
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 19, at 10:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Donations in his name may be made to either the Pearle L. Crawford Memorial Library, 40 Schofield Avenue, or to Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., both in Dudley, MA 01571. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
