Freda Lee (Mayer) Nason, 76, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, May 9th, 2021.
Born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Walter Mayer and Ruth M. (Fahnbach) Wilder, she lived in New Bedford most of her life. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Germain.
Lee was an avid traveler, with her favorite places being Spain, Italy, Turkey, Morocco, and Greenland. She was active in politics, and was a libertarian. She was a pioneer in the League of Women's Voters and Citizen Tax Reform. Lee worked for New England Telephone, and was Director of Facilities at UMass Dartmouth for many years.
Survivors include her son, George Nason of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Alex and Logan Nason; and her cousins, Wilbur Boutin, Ellen Kirby, and Gail Campbell.
Lee will have a prayer service on Wednesday May 19th at 1:30PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford, MA.
