Obituary

Worcester – Joseph F. Carey, 76, of Worcester, died on December 25, 2020 in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after sustaining injuries in a pedestrian accident.

Mr. Carey is survived by his daughter, Sharon Carey of Oxford; a son, Joseph Carey of Sharon, PA; a sister, Sharon Rivelli and her husband, James of Leicester; a brother, Ronald Carey and his wife, Alice of Leicester; a granddaughter, Marissa Henderson of Oxford; and many nephews and nieces.

Joseph was born in Worcester, son of the late Francis Carey and Elizabeth (Whittemore) Bostwick and is predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters, Frank Carey, Ernest Carey, George Carey, Paul Carey, Gerald Carey, Dean Carey, Phyllis Hedge, June Rice and Arlene Brunner.

Mr. Carey worked for many years at Parker Manufacturing and also worked as a parking lot attendant on Exchange Street in Worcester and with his brothers at Carey Painters. He was a loving father to his children and an amazing grandfather.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Carey may be made to Sherry’s House c/o Why Me Inc. 1152 Pleasant Street Worcester, MA 01602.
