Obituary

Geraldine (Potter) Medeiros, 88, of Little Compton, passed away in her home, surrounded by her family and caregivers on Sunday, May 9, 2021. She was wife of the late Edward M. Medeiros.

Born in Westport, daughter of the late Alston J. Potter, Sr. and the late Carrie (Wood) Potter, she had lived in Little Compton for most of her life. She was the founder of Gerry's Yarn and Gift Shop in Westport and later she owned and operated Gerry and Eddie's Country Stand with her husband Edward. One of their most famous patrons at the Country Stand included President Dwight Eisenhower. Gerry loved her family, her pets and her home. She enjoyed growing and selling flowers from the garden cart in her yard.

Gerry is survived by her son Brian and his significant other Sandra; 5 grandchildren: Jennifer, Crystal, Brian, Chelsea and Tina; 8 great grandchildren; a great great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was sister of the late Alston Potter, Jr.

The family is appreciative of the wonderful caregivers she has had over the last 10 years.

At Mrs. Medeiros's request, her funeral services will be private with interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
