Marcella “Marcy”
Age 80 of Maplewood, passed peacefully on May 1, 2021 following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Preceded in death by parents, William and Marcella (Belka) Mertz; brothers, Jim Mertz and Jack Mertz; sister, Janet Waddick. Survived by her husband of 59 years, George; four sons, George (Lisa), John, Mike (Jennifer), and Tom (Julie); ten grandchildren, Joel, Lauren, George, Jack, Jason, Amanda, Mackenzie, Sara, Lillian and Michael; brother, William (Lorraine) Mertz; other relatives and friends.Marcy was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren at the cabin. Visitation, 5-8 pm, Monday, May 10 th at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 – 7 th Avenue E, North St. Paul. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, 12 Noon, Tuesday, May 11th at Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret St. N., North St. Paul. Inurnment St. Mary’s Cemetery, North St. Paul. Memorials preferred to Minnesota and North Dakota Alzheimer’s Association. Special thanks to Homestead at Maplewood Memory Care Staff and HealthPartners Hospice for the great care they provide to Marcella.
