Elizabeth “Betty” May Simpkin, 92 of Fairhaven, passed away on Saturday May 1st, 2021 at her home she shared with her son Scott, who was by her side. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the Late Dorothy Wilcox Fortin and Russell Wilcox. She was the wife of the late Joseph Simpkin Jr. who passed in 1979. Elizabeth was a member of the Dartmouth Senior Center and worked for years at Fernandes Super Market. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was most fond of the Love and caring relationship she had with her son Scott Simpkin who cared for her, especially these past few years when her health declined at their home.
Aside from her son Scott, she leaves behind three daughters, Susan Bergeron of Fairhaven, Carol Klingensmith of Florida and Diane Joubert of Texas. She was preceded in death by her son Joseph Simpkin lll and the sister of the late Russell Wilcox. Elizabeth was blessed with the Legacy of 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers in the hospitals and rehab facilities whom she encountered during her stays as well as those who cared for her at home.

There will be NO visiting hours. Funeral arrangements will take place at the family residence in Fairhaven and Internment will be private.
