William L. Verdone, 72, of Hudson, retired Lt. Colonel Massachusetts National Guard died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Marlboro Hospital in Marlboro, MA. He was the husband of the late Janice (Roch) Verdone who died in 2003. Born in Springvale, ME, son of the late Theodore and Grace (Gooding) Verdone. He was employed by the Hudson Light and Power Department as a line foreman for thirty eight years until his retirement. He graduated from Hudson H.S. class of 1952. He was a member of the State National Guard Association in Hudson, Hudson Senior Center where he taught an introductory computer course and the First United Methodist Church were he coordinated the Open Door Free Medical Clinic.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda L. Viola of Acton, MA, three sons; Byron Verdone of Colorado, Army Sgt. Major Bruce Verdone who is stationed in Iraq, and Barry Verdone of Ashburnham, MA. He is also survived by his two brothers; Theodore Verdone of Florida, Gary Verdone of Connecticut, one sister; Sally Mallory of Hudson, MA, and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church, 34 Felton Street, Hudson, MA. Burial will be private.
