Henry Lewis ‘Sonny ‘ Koebke, 92, passed away May 1, 2021 in the comfort of his own home where he was born, February 15, 1929 son of the late Henry A. and May (Remhoff) Koebke.
He leaves his wife who he married December 1949, Virginia L. ‘Ginny’ (Picard) Koebke, a son James Henry Koebke and his wife Krisanne of Dudley, a daughter, Anne E. Koebke-French of Dudley and her partner Andy Helgerson, 5 grandchilden; August, Curtis, Nolan Koebke Holden and Lane French and his significant other Morgan Donovan a sister, Evelyn Koebke-Brown of North Haverhill, New Hampshire and Rachael Gallant and her husband Donald of Littleton, MA., and many nieces and nephews and his late brother Robert Koebke and sister, Hazel Koebke-Sisco.
He was a Member and Past Master of the Dudley Grange over 50 years, a member of the Farm Bureau Member, and a Director for the Richmond Farm CO-OP in Richmond, Vermont.
Sonny was a lifelong Dairy Farmer on Walnut Lane Farm which has been in the Koebke Family since .1910 .
He want us to say that he was “Old Farmer from Dudley” but he was much more than that. He loved his family, lived honestly, worked hard every day along side his family and help with no job beneath him, help his farming neighbors when help was needed, never spoke badly about anyone, always had a positive attitude and always made the most of each day living life to the fullest. He built a camp on the farm at Baker Pond to enjoy with his family every Summer and in later years he enjoyed traveling with his sister Evelyn and built a camp in Charleston, Maine to enjoy during
his semi-retirement
His wishes were simple, there are no calling hours, funeral services will be private with a Celebration of Life will be at a later date.
Sonny and his family would like to THANK the Doctors and Nurses ,Caregivers and Staff at UMass Medical Center for the wonderful and compassionate care that he received during his journey with CMML Leukemia.
The family would like anyone who is able to donate their blood and/or platelets at would like to ask that donation of blood and platelets to U. Mass c/o 55 Lake Ave. North, Worcester, MA. 01655. or anywhere it's available to do so- thanks to the generosity of people who donate, Dad/Grampy had an extra 2 1/2 years with us and in the woods on the farm that he loved so much.
