Donata (Rossi) Mastrangelo, age 97, of Roxbury passed away on April 30 at Faulkner Hospital of Boston. Born and raised in Anzano Di Puglia, Foggia, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michaelangelo and Luigia Carla (Melino) Rossi. Donata came to the U.S. in the mid-1950’s. She settled in Roxbutry and was employed for many years as a seamstress. Donata was an overly generous person. She would help anyone in need, and loved being with people, especially when she was cooking for them.
Donata was the beloved wife of the late Rocco Luigi Mastrangelo, and the devoted mother of Luigi Mastrangelo of Roxbury and the late Maddalena and Rocco Mastrangelo. She was the dear sister of the late Gaetano Rossi and his late wife Francesca, and the late Rosangela Formosi and her late husband Fabio. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, May 10th at 9 AM followed by a service at the Christian Assembly Church, 9 Cummings St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Cemetery in Boston. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with Donata’s family at the funeral home on Sunday, May 9th, from 4 through 8 PM. Social distancing protocols will be followed throughout the services.
