Obituary

Roland A. Rioux, 82, of Derry, NH died Sunday May 2, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong resident of Derry, Roland was born on August 9, 1938, a son of the late Joseph and Cecile (Paquin) Rioux.

He was a US Army veteran having served during the Berlin Crisis. Roland retired after 38 years employment with Sanders Assoc., Lockheed, and BAE Systems. He was a member of the Rockingham Motor Mounts and the American Legion Post 27 in Londonderry.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice (Adams) Rioux of Derry, one son, David Rioux and his wife Annmarie of Auburn, two daughters, Deanne Simard and husband Michael of Hudson, and Danielle Clivio and husband Thomas of Londonderry; six grandchildren, Cameron Clivio, Delaney Rioux, Michael Simard, Dylan Clivio, Brady Simard and Dante Clivio; one brother, Raymond Rioux of Londonderry, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Dolores Gile and Marie Pollock and one brother Joseph Rioux.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 5, 2021 from 5 – 8 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry with cremation to follow. Due to State of NH guidelines, all guests are required to wear masks, minimize contact and maintain social distancing.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
