Maria DaSilva, 63

Maria (Medeiros) DaSilva, age 63, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Boston Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Laudalino F. DaSilva, to whom she was wed for thirty-nine years.
Born in Sao Miguel, Portugal on October 31, 1957, she was a loving daughter of Maria (Medeiros) Medeiros of Bristol, Rhode Island and the late Jacinto Medeiros
Maria grew up and was educated in Portugal. In 1979, she moved to the United States, first settling in Providence. Later, in 1981, she moved to Taunton where she has resided ever since.
Prior to retiring, Maria had worked for over twenty years as a custodian at Taunton High School. She retired in 2018 and was a longtime communicant of Saint Anthony’s Church in Taunton.
Maria’s greatest gift in life was her adoring family. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She took great pride in the appearance of her home, enjoyed shopping and was so proud of helping to raise three of her precious grandchildren: Julianna, Jayden and Jacobi.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her devoted children: Sandy DaSilva of Taunton and David DaSilva of Taunton. She was the cherished grandmother of Julianna, Jayden, Jacobi, Jayanna and Jaylianna. She was the dear sister of Antonio Silva of Taunton, Vanda Amorim of Bristol, RI, Maria Correia of Providence, RI, John Silva of Providence, RI and the late Jose Silva. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, May 5th from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Taunton Memorial Funeral Home, 8 Crapo Street (Off Route 140, Tremont Street) Taunton.
Her Funeral Mass will follow the visitation on Wednesday, May 5th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Anthony’s Church, 126 School Street, Taunton. Burial will follow at the Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
