Tony Sheppard, 97, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, April 30, 2021, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 5 PM, Sunday, May 2, 2021, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating.
Mr. Sheppard was born March 17, 1924, in Milan, Georgia, to the late William F. & Mary Sheffield Sheppard. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. He was a self-employed electrician having owned and operated Tony’s Electric Service for many years. Mr. Sheppard loved to fish and was a member of American Legion Post 99.
He is survived by his children: Randall & Jenny Sheppard of Missouri, Joy Sheppard of Fitzgerald, Tonette Sheppard of Fitzgerald, and Kenneth & Diane Sheppard of Fitzgerald along with their mother, Kathy Sheppard of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Michael Vanlaningham, Lacie Pettit, Miriah Sears, and Brannon Sheppard; step-grandchildren: DeeDee Stone & Scott Branam and Kaylea & Ethan Fitzgerald; and great-grandchildren: Savannah Vanlaningham, Brooklyn Vanlaningham, Kendall Bundrick, Phoenix Sears, Brody Pettit, Colton Pettit and Asher Pettit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Sheppard; two grandchildren: Randy Sheppard and Terri Sheppard; a sister, Lera Mullis; and two brothers: Carroll Sheppard and Johnny Sheppard.
