Mack Ethridge, 80, of Ashburn passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Mr. Ethridge will be laid to rest at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 1, 2021, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Ethridge will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Michael Stone, Ricky Ethridge, Kevin Potts, Larry Stone, Stanley Whiddon and Darrell Maddox will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 26, 1940 in Baker County, Mr. Ethridge was the son of the late Charles Eugene Ethridge and Carrie Mae Dias Ethridge. He was also preceded in death by one brother and six sisters. Before retiring he was a drywall installer and finisher; a horse trainer and farrier; and a dog breeder. He was a member of the Tift County Saddle Club, the Deep Dixie Horse Association and the First Baptist Church of Ty Ty.
Mr. Ethridge is survived by his wife, Christine Stone Ethridge of Ashburn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Brandi Ethridge of Ashburn and Ronnie and Valari Ethridge of Terrell County; one daughter, Penny Spires of Ashburn; five grandchildren, Brandi Ethridge, Ricky Ethridge, Amanda Potts, Darrell Maddox and Garrett Ethridge; and four great-grandchildren, K. J. Potts, Kristopher Potts, Khloe Barfield and Zoey Bracewell.
