FALL RIVER – Maria Eugénia Teves Albernaz, age 72 of Fall River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Born in São Miguel, Açores, Maria Eugénia was the beloved wife of the late Francisco M. Albernaz and the daughter of the late Hermano Teves and the late Maria de Jesus Aguiar.
Maria Eugénia was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, was a past choir member, a past member of St. Michael’s feast committee, and a member of the Holy Rosary Society. Maria Eugénia was also very involved in cooking and baking for Saint Michael Parish events.
She is survived by her children: Frank Albernaz (partner John DaSilva) of Seekonk, MA, Noreen DaSilva (husband Greg Stachowski) of Whitman, MA, and Richard Albernaz (wife Stephanie) of Swansea, MA; 3 grandchildren: Kayla DaSilva, Analeah Albernaz, and Olivia Albernaz; siblings: Octavia Carvalho, Fatima Teves, Jose Teves and the late Abel Teves all of Fall River, MA, the late Maria do Espirito Santo Teves Martins of Portugal, Maria dos Anjos Teves Lima, João Teves, Hermano Teves, and the late Marcolino Teves all of the Azores; many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Maria’s family has a great appreciation for the compassionate care extended to Maria by the doctors and nurses at Beth Israel Deaconess of Plymouth.
Her funeral will take place from the Manual Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on Thursday, May 6th at 9:00 A.M. for family, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M. for all to attend.
