Janice G. Monteiro, 50, of Dartmouth died Monday July 22, 2002 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. She was the daughter of Evelyn G. (Britto) Gomes of New Bedford and Arthur Monteiro of Newport, Rhode Island.
Janice was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Janice was a loving person, who loved to laugh and loved animals and music.
Survivors include her parents; her stepfather, Bartolomeu Gomes of New Bedford; a sister, June M. Watson of New Bedford; 4 brothers, Arthur "Buddy" Monteiro, Jr., and Allan J. Monteiro, both of New Bedford, Anthony Turner of Newport and Steven Turner of Warwick, RI; her sister-in-law, Elaine Monteiro of New Bedford; her godmother, Louise Ramos of New Bedford; her godfather, August Gomes, Jr., of New Bedford; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.She was the sister-in-law of the late David L. Watson, who died on July 13, 2002.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordThursday July 25, 2002 at 9 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday July 24, 2002 from 5-8 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
