Thomas A. Cangiano passed away at home, in the company of his loving family, on Sunday April 25th. He was 81. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Sacco) Cangiano. Thomas graduated from Medford High School and Northeastern University. He embarked on a long career in banking, serving always in local community centered banks. His work eventually focused on mortgage lending. He retired from Stoneham Bank. An avid tennis player throughout his life, Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, whether at home or at Wells Beach in the summer. Tom was an active member of Saint Joseph Parish. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
The beloved husband of the late Jane E. (Lavender) Cangiano, he was a devoted father to Peter Cangiano and his wife Nancy Cahill of Lowell, Nancy Albanese and her husband Steven of Medford, Thomas Cangiano and his wife Linda of Providence, RI, Linda Calvert and her husband Donald of Melrose, Andrea Harrington and her husband Timothy of Melrose, Michael Cangiano and his wife Amy of Danvers, Diane Catricala and her husband Michael of Stoneham. Loving grandfather to 20 grandchildren. Dear brother of Frank Cangiano and his wife Joan, the late Florence Carpenito, Phyllis Carpinella, Helen Alpers and her surviving husband Henry, Michael, Emmanuel, George, Dr. Albert and Ernest Cangiano. Also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday May 4th from 4 through 8 PM and again on Wednesday, May 5th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
