Meredith “Merry” Ann Kirslis, 70, of The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida passed away after her courageous battle with cancer on March 26,2021 with her husband Paul by her side.
Born in Brockton, daughter of late Bernard and Mary Stevens, she graduated from Brockton High school. She worked for Security Federal Savings Bank for many, many years and then retired from QualCraft.
She grew up attending First Baptist Church of Brockton, participating in Youth Group and Grotonwood camps and singing in the choir.
Merry and Paul lived in Brockton and also owned a home in Washington, NH where they spent many summers and retired there for 6 months a year until 2017. They had a very loving and supportive group of friends there.
Merry loved to golf whenever she could and really enjoyed out-driving Paul and other players that she golfed with. She loved to sew, craft and knit.She also loved to make things for her family and friends.
Merry enjoyed talking to her grandson Noah on FaceTime. She proudly wore all of her Grammie T-shirts and loved to share stories and pictures of her only grandson.
Merry is survived by her loving and devoted husband Paul Kirslis and her children Linda Tavares and husband Mike of North Providence, RI and Brian Bradstreet and wife Tracy of Mansfield, MA. She was the sister of Sandra Allaire of The Villages and grandmother of Noah Tavares and Malylah Ortiz. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Malea Tavares.
Graveside service will be held at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 12:30pm. Family and friends are welcome. Following Covid guidelines, masks must be worn and social distancing observed in the cemetery.
