Billy Charles Rutland, 85, of Tifton passed away Monday, April 26, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Rutland at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Rutland Family Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Jimmy Parker will officiate.
Josh Rutland, Greg Rutland, Ryan Rutland, Brock Moore, Buck Moore and Monty Rutland will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 1, 1936 in Tift County, Mr. Rutland was the son of the late John W. Rutland and Eula Bea Ivey Rutland. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Bruce Rutland, Ray Rutland and Joe Rutland. He had a Master’s degree in Chemistry and taught school for several years . He was a retired farmer and also worked at Tifton Aluminum Company. He was of the Baptist faith and a devoted Christian and witness for Jesus Christ. He enjoyed attending several churches.
Mr. Rutland is survived by one son, Israel Timothy Rutland of Millen; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Johnny and Freida Rutland and Jerry and Cindy Rutland, all of Tifton and Donald and Molly Rutland of Tallahassee, Florida.
