AUBURN: Joel P. Nyberg, 71, of Washington Street, died Friday, April 23 in his home surrounded by his loving family after an illness.
He leaves his wife Therese M. (Anderson) Nyberg, a daughter Tiah J. Louis and her husband Erik of Charlton, two grandchildren; Hannah & Nathen Louis, his twin brother Dana Nyberg and his wife Lenni of Worcester and several nieces and nephews.
Joel was born in Worcester, son of George and Edith (Rasmussen) Nyberg. He was a tool maker at St. Gobain in Worcester for many years before retiring in 2003. He was a longtime member of the NRA and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and pond hockey. He loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events and was their biggest fan. He had a contagious sense of humor and quick wit. He was a creative thinker and had many intellectual patents over the years. Family was very important to Joel and he loved spending time with his family. The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care.
Funeral services and burial will be private. MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester is directing funeral arrangements for the family.
