Mary Elizabeth Childs Montgomery, 89, of Eldorado, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Eldorado Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Allen will officiate with burial to follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Jason Hill, Robert Hogan, Bruce Montgomery, Austin Montgomery, Jim Pason and Zach Montgomery will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson.
Ms. Montgomery was born on September 3, 1916 in Turner County and was the daughter of Burton Brown Childs and Willie Trummie Childs, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Murray Bruce Montgomery, who died on December 20, 1999 and a daughter, Betty Montgomery. She was a homemaker and a member of Eldorado Baptist Church.
Ms. Montgomery is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law; Don and Linda Montgomery of Logansville, Bill and Linda Montgomery of Dublin, Gene and Charlene Montgomery of Valdosta, Raymond and Dale Montgomery of Acworth and James and Linda Montgomery of Eldorado; one sister, Bill Fowler of Statesboro; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
