Richard Roland Schaberg, 84, of Ventura, California passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, in Ojai, California.
Richard was born in Somerville, New Jersey to Fred and Eleanor Schaberg on June 12, 1936.
He went to high school in Scranton, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1954. He attended Lehigh University and then earned a degree in engineering from UCLA.
He worked in the field of medical equipment with Gould Medical Products, then in electronics with Rockwell Science Center, and then his last job before retiring was at Kavlico Corporation.
Richard enjoyed many activities including skiing, biking, hiking, scuba diving and world travel. He was very active in the Los Padres Ski Club, Conejo Ski Club, Sierra Club and Channel Island Bicycle Club.
Richard is survived by his partner of 22 years, Stephanie Levine of Ventura, California, and her children Mike and Lori Levine, Mark and Kathy Levine, Tom and Melanie Levine and grandchildren Zachary, Jake and Lindsey Levine. In addition, he is survived by step daughter Marcie Fort, step grandsons Chris Long and Jason McComb and step great grandchildren Sophia Long and Jason Junior.
His is proceeded in death by his wife of 25 years, Eileen Schaberg, his parents Eleanor and Fred Schaberg, and step grandson Zachary Schaberg.
Richard will always be remembered for his endearing smile, healthy appetite, and positive attitude.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Ojai Valley Community Continuing Care Center and Livingston Memorial VNA Hospice for the excellent care and attention.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 16, 2021 at noon, in the Temple Beth Torah sanctuary. This is open to all, with distancing and masking protocols observed. We encourage those who would prefer to join the Memorial Service via zoom.
