Arthur R. Jalbert, 93, of Salem, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Monday, April 19, 2021.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Malvina A. (Gagnon) Jalbert. Arthur served two enlistments with the Army. His first was at the close of World War II and his second was during the Korean Conflict. Following his second tour of duty, he returned to Salem and continued working for Sylvania in the shipping and receiving department. Arthur retired with over thirty six years with Sylvania.
Arthur was a quiet man who enjoyed his daily walks and working out at the gym. One of his favorite spots was time spent at the Salem Willows.
He is survived by his sister Malvina A. Martel and her husband Joseph L. Martel of Salem as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his brothers; Charles, Wilfred, Roland, and William Jalbert and sisters, Doris Rhodes and Jeannette Bennett.
