WEBSTER – Muriel M. (Shurick) Raymond passed away peacefully on November 9th, 2020 after a very short illness. Her heart was already broken after the passing of the love of her life, husband Gene in 2017. Muriel was the loving mother of three devoted children, Jean and her late husband Gary, Kathleen and her husband Allan and David and his wife Sally. She was the proudest grandmother of Kimberly, Kelley and her husband Brad, Tara and her husband Derek, Jesse and his wife Stacy and Nicholas. Her great-grandchildren meant the world to her: Troy, Briana, Haley, Tony, Garret, Kylee, Mady, Draven, and Lucan. She was so close to meeting her first great-great grandchild, Eliana Rose. She adored many nieces and nephews as well.
She worked tirelessly at local mills alongside her husband for years. Her latest job was at Filene’s Basement, where she loved sharing her discount with her family! She camped her whole life, and in the later years, Hidden Acres was her home away from home. Bingo was her most favorite pastime and when she didn’t go with one of her daughters, her bingo buddy Betty was at her side. She didn’t care if she won a dollar or a hundred: a win was a win.
In addition to her loving husband, she was predeceased by her siblings Donald, Carlos, Dorothy, Charles, and Raymond.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 14, at 10:00 AM Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Current guidelines will be in place and everyone must wear a mask. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street.
