Plymouth – Norma Jean (Avila) Cambra, age 88, of Dartmouth, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She was the beloved wife of the late John Cambra.
Norma Jean was born in Dartmouth, MA to the late Gregorio Correia Avila and Alexandrina (Perry) Avila. She had worked as a data processor at the hospital for many years. She was a member of the Lions Club, President of the P.T.O in Dartmouth and was also a volunteer at the Dartmouth Senior Center and the Dartmouth Council on Aging.
Norma Jean is survived by her children, Gwendolyn Fernandes of Assonet, Rosalind Caton of Fairhaven, Jacqueline Teixeira of Dartmouth and John P. Cambra of Arizona; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by 7 siblings.
Her funeral arrangements will be private.
