Ramona Marie Kuzava passed away April 19, 2021, at home with her family by her side.
Ramona Marie Zappia was born October 16, 1928, the daughter of Clementina Assunta and Umberto Zappia in Maropati, Italy. At a young age, her family moved from Italy to the United States settling in Michigan. It was during their transition from Italy to America, that Ramona and her sister, Esther, created a strong bond that would last a lifetime.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Ed and his wife, Sandi, Al and his wife, Kathy, Mary and her husband, Jerry Diebel, Annette and her husband, Dan Brown, and Frank and his wife, Laura; grandchildren and their spouses, Eddie and Tracy, Erik and Ashley, Kevin, Kristen and Wes, Charlie, Aaron, Bella and Ryan and Vinnie; great grandchildren Bo, Abby, Charlotte, James and Gabriel; beautiful sister, Violet Gardner and her husband Ronald; brother-in-law, Gary Leigh; and nieces and nephews who provided love and support throughout her life.
Ramona was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 64 years, Edward Kuzava; and her beloved sister, Esther Leigh.
A very special thank you to Aunt Vi for everything you have done for us. You were always available, night and day. Your encouragement, guidance and love has meant so much to us. You are truly loved and appreciated.
A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Maplewood, MN. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Saint Paul. If you would like to watch the Memorial Mass for Ramona, it will be livestreamed for the public on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM. No flowers please.
