Betty “Lunette” Golden Williams, 86, of Enigma passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Marvin Williams officiating. Zach Abell will give a eulogy. Mrs. Williams will be laid to rest at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 25, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Chesley Culpepper, Mark Peele, Gerold Peele, Mike Williams, Jason Golden and Chad Whitley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Drawdy, Bobby Drawdy, Jack Drawdy, David Drawdy, Wayne Drawdy, Phil McMillan, Dan Hiers, Lance Golden, Steve McMillan, Tim McMillan, Larry McMillan, Carl Nichols and J. E. Bennett.
Born November 8, 1934, in Arcadia, Florida, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late Walter James Golden, Jr. and Ida Mae Drawdy Golden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, who loved and protected her, Marvin “Curtis” Williams, Sr., who she was married to for almost 60 years; one brother, RayGene Golden; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Abell. Lunette was a member of Mount Zion Ministries in Enigma. She loved God and her family. She was known as Mother Lou to many who knew and loved her. She found great pleasure in cooking her family’s favorite dishes and having them in her home. She was known for her thin layer chocolate cake and Italian Cream cake.
Lunette is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Marv and Gina Williams of Douglas; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jeff Abell of Enigma; her grandchildren and their spouses, Kurt and Tabatha Williams of Lakeland, Zach and Jessi Abell of Moultrie, Perrin Williams of Valdosta, Rachel Abell and her fiance’, Troy Heckert of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Jenna Williams of Douglas; four great-grandchildren, Annelise Williams, Emma Abell, Noah Abell and Anna Abell; one sister and brother-in-law, Jerolyn and Ronnie Culpepper of Enigma; a nephew, Chesley Culpepper; and a niece, Michelle Raker.
