Mary J. (McMahan) King 65 of Anderson, passed away on April 16, 2021 at the Greenwood HealthCare Center following an extended illness.
Mary was born on December 2, 1955 in Anderson, the daughter of Lyle and Margaret McMahan. She worked as a home healthcare aid with Visiting Nurse for 14 years and was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Anderson. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, yahtzee, pac man, mario, drinking iced tea, decorating for Christmas and spending cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her husband,"Gene" King, whom she married August 4, 1971; a son, Jeff (Lynn) King of Anderson and stepson, Bart (Tammy) King of Anderson; two grandchildren, four step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Purdue and Judy (Jeff) Austin, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronnie McMahan.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church, 630 West 53rd Street, Anderson, officiated by Pastor Luke St. Clair and Bishop Danny St. Clair. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church on Wednesday.
Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
