SPENCER: M.T. Rita Ouellette, 90, of Spencer, died peacefully on Friday, April 16th in Quaboag Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing in West Brookfield, with her loving family at her side.
Rita enjoyed a 35 year career as administrative assistant to the Superintendent of Schools for the Catholic Diocese of Worcester before retiring. Prior to that time, she was a Sister of the Assumption of Nicolet and for 10 years was a devoted elementary school teacher. She was an avid reader, beautiful knitter, and a gracious and supportive listener, always.
She leaves her sister Pauline Lavallee of Seabrook, NH, her sister in law Sharon Ouellette of Westboro, her "brothers" Paul Dube and his wife Lorraine of Bluffton, SC., and Bernard Dube of Spencer, her "sister" Therese Dube, Sister of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her lifelong companion Dorothy Dube of Spencer, her brother Gerard Ouellette of Salem, Paul Ouellette of Westboro and her sister Lorraine Stockton of Peabody.
Born in Salem, MA., she was the daughter of Oscar and Marie Anne (Levesque) Ouellette. She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish.
Private funeral services and burial in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Quaboag Nursing & Rehabilitation Patient Activity Account, 47 E.Main St., W.Brookfield, MA 01585.
