Joseph Juza Jr., 88, of Manchester passed away peacefully at St. Teresa Nursing Home on April 15, 2021.
Joseph was born June 30, 1932 in Manchester, NH to the late Joseph Juza Sr. and Helen (Poplowski) Juza.
Joe grew up in Manchester and Graduated in 1950 from Central High School. In his early years he was employed by Packard Auto Seat Cover Co. He was also employed by GTE Sylvania in Manchester for 25 years as a production mechanic retiring at the age of 60.
He served 37 years with the 39th Army band where he was the lead saxophone player, retiring with the rank of SFC. After his retirement he continued to play with the 39th Army Alumni Band.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Manchester, NH and also served on the church cemetery committee.
Joe was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Durgin) of 64 years. He is survived by his four children, Diane (Juza) Cave of Concord, NH, Alan M Juza and wife Stacey of Goffstown, NH, Joseph S. Juza and fiancé Betsy O’Donnell of Manchester, NH and John G. Juza and wife Susan.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather of 12, and great grandfather of 10. He enjoyed fishing on his boat, hunting, riding his motorcycle, fixing small engines, parties, and socializing with friends and family, where he always had a good story to tell. He also enjoyed time at the lake in Wolfeboro, NH.
He was predeceased by his sister Stella Glanvill of Pocasset, Massachusetts .
Calling hours will be held on Monday 4:00 to 7:00PM at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. The requiem prayer with be held at 6:00. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Holy Trinity Cathedral with Bishop Paul Sobiechowski, officiating.
Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Goffstown, Rd. Goffstown.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
