Candido Nieves (78) of Brockton died April 10th at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Bruno Nieves and Cristina (Gonzalez) Nieves. Candido worked in the landscaping industry and enjoyed fishing, shopping, playing dominoes, cracking jokes and socializing with family.
Candido is survived by his son Jose M. Nieves of Brockton, 2 daughters, Joanna Nieves and Maria Velazquez both of Brockton, (father of the late David Nieves), 2 brothers, Edwin Nieves of Brockton and Jose A. Nieves of New Bedford, a sister Carmen Ortiz of Brockton, (brother of the late Carmelo Torres), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Sunday April 18th from 2-4 pm. Cremation to follow.
