Christa S. Cody, age 75 of Brockton, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 12:30pm at Boston Medical Center.
Christa was an elegant woman, soft spoken with a gentle and loving smile. She loved meeting people and with her warm personality and engaging spirit, she made many friends.
Christa was born in Germany and in 1967 her adventurous spirit brought her on a journey to the shores of California, where she worked as an Au pair and administrative assistant. She pursued her dreams and eventually in 1969 she landed in Boston. The East Coast stole her heart and she spent her remaining years in the area.
Professionally, she worked as an assistant in the architectural firm of Walter Skinner in Camden, ME. This position allowed her creative nature to blossom and grow as she developed a passion for art, classical music and animals. She had a devotion to her cat Clancy and Ruben “The Wonder Dog”, a beautiful and playful sheep dog. She was an avid reader and loved to take Ruben on long walks in D.W. Field Park.
In 1975, she married Martin J. Cody and later divorced. After her divorce, she settled in Brockton. In the following years, she worked at the Fuller Crafts Museum for 15 years. This complimented her passion for art and creativity.
Christa was the daughter of the late Cacilie Schommers; sister of Isolde; aunt of Andrea Eppel and her husband Udo; great aunt of Paul Eppel and sister in law of Hartmut Eppel, all of Germany. She was the former wife of Martin J. Cody.
Family services for Christa will be held in Germany.
