David L. Olson, 74, of Westport, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Denise R. (Parent) Olson.
Born in Providence, RI, son of the late Leroy A. and Annette E. (Verrier) Olson, he had lived in Westport since 1973. Prior to his retirement in 2004, he was an electrical engineer for National Grid. Mr. Olson was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and taught the Right of Christian Initiation for Adults (R.C.I.A.). He enjoyed woodworking and the numerous activities he did at the family vacation home in Bethlehem, NH.
Including his wife, he is survived by his 3 children: Matthew D. Olson and his wife Traci of Fall River, Melissa A. Jerome and her husband Adam of N. Dartmouth and Jonathan R. Olson and his girlfriend Moriam Alibi of Johnston, RI; 2 sisters: Elaine Ragon of FL and Karen Johnson of Coventry, RI; a brother: Paul Olson of N. Providence; 5 grandchildren: Ashley, Julie, Hannah, Jennifer and Noah; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at St. George Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
At the family's request, visitation will be private.
