On Monday, April 5, 2021, The Sorrell Family lost their hero unexpectedly. Marc F. Sorrell died at Catholic Medical Center of a heart attack. He was 65.
Marc was born in Laconia NH in 1956, one of 5 children to Robert and Claire Sorrell. After graduating high school in Pembroke, he strapped on a backpack and explored Europe with his best friend Earle. It was an experience he fondly remembered as he always loved to travel and live life to the fullest. He worked at General Electric as a machine operator for 35 years and was a very skilled carpenter. He retired from G.E. in 2016 and spent many weekdays teeing it up with his buddies on the golf course.
His love for golf, skiing, cribbage, and camping was contagious and passed down through two generations. He was always at the center of activity and would spend most of his weekends with his wife Lucille chasing around their grandchildren on kayaks, motorcycles, or bicycles. Marc was a longtime country club member of both Intervale C/C and Pembroke Pines.
Marc was a loving husband and father whose world revolved around his wife of 41 years, Lucille (Dion) Sorrell, three children; Tina Winters and her husband, Ben of Goffstown, Brian Sorrell of Manchester, Sonya Paccione and her husband Nicholas of Londonderry, and seven grandchildren; Jack, Theo, Paige, Maxwell, Claire, Arielle and Alex. His sudden passing is a shock to everyone, and he will be missed by his family and many friends. Marc never met a stranger.
Marc is survived by his father and mother, Robert and Claire Sorrell, as well as his sister Diane Langevin of Florida and Janice Burris of Concord and brothers Paul Sorrell of Florida and John Sorrell of Northwood.
Family members will be scattering Marc’s ashes in a private ceremony.
A celebration of Marc’s life will be held on Sunday, April 11th from 10am-12pm at Labelle Winery (345 Horace Greeley Rd, Amherst, NH) and is open to all who wish to honor and celebrate Marc’s life with his family. Please dress in bright vibrant colors as this is a celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Marc’s name.
