TAUNTON, MA - It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that Jane (Bochanowski) Crossman, 93, of Taunton, MA, passed peacefully in her sleep at home on April 3, 2021. She was born in Lynn, MA but spent most of her life in Taunton. The daughter of the late John and Rose Bochanowski of Taunton, she is now forever reunited with her husband of 41 years, Amos Crossman.
She was predeceased by her brothers Alphonse and David Bochanowski, a young son Ralph, and by in-laws Hilyard and Norma Crossman (Canada), Lloyd and Naida Crossman, Elsworth and Mary Crossman, Edward and Annamae Crossman, Clara (Crossman) and Bill Nunes, LeRoy and Stella Crossman (all of Taunton). She was the last one of the greatest generation of our family locally and in Canada.
She volunteered at the Myles Standish Camp for POWs during WWII as a young woman, loved her sewing, completing 300-piece puzzles, her many animals, and most of all, her family. We will fondly remember her for teaching us about how to live life in a good way.
She is survived by her children Ronald Crossman and his wife Sharon of Pocasset, MA, Donald Crossman and his wife Karen of Westport, MA, Verna Crossman of Taunton, MA, Lorna Williams of Montgomery, VT, Daryl Crossman and his wife Nancy of Sandwich, MA, Robert Crossman and his wife Helen of Taunton, MA, and Paul Crossman of Plainville, MA. She leaves thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, Taunton, MA. There will be a private family gathering at the funeral home on Monday April 12th at 9:00 AM, followed by an open public Mass at St. Andrew’s Church, 19 Kilmer St, Taunton, MA at 10:00 AM. The Church rules of masks and social distancing will be used. Internment at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA will immediately follow the service.
