Michael B. Kotel, 97, of Worcester died Saturday, April 3rd in the Jewish Health Care Center. His wife of 50 years, Helen (Sawa) Kotel predeceased him. He leaves his nieces and nephews including, Kathleen Kotel of Leicester; Steven Kotel and his wife, Donna and Devra Kotel all of Ft. Myers, FL. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary M.V. Kotel; his companion, Laura Wolocz; three brothers, Edmund, Teofil, and Walter Kotel and two sisters, Genevieve Ciborowski and Frances Kasauskas and hus nephew, James Kotel.
He was born in Millbury the son of Stephen and Michelina (Minikauskas) Kotel. Michael was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Seabees during World War II. Mr. Kotel was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Lourdes Church and the Carpenters Local 107. He worked for the Diocese of Worcester at St. John’s High School, Temple Street and then the Chancery for 20 years he also co-owned Empire Construction for many years.
His funeral is Thursday. April 8th with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
