SCARBOROUGH- Thomas (Tom) P. Duffy, age 72, passed away at his home on Friday, April 2, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 28, 1948, in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, He was the youngest son of the late Hugh J. Duffy and Nora (Donaghy) Duffy. Tom came to the US in 1973, and settled and worked in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. There, in 1974, he met "the love of his life", Darleen Wilkey. They were married in 1975. They moved their young family to Maine in 1981, settling in Winterport. For over 40 years, he worked for Subaru dealers, most notably Quirk Subaru in Bangor, as a parts manager.
Tom enjoyed following his favorite boyhood football (soccer) team, Tottenham Hotspur, in the English Premier League. He played soccer every chance he could, and officiated soccer games at the youth, high school, and college level until the age of 70; never letting the cancer hold him back.
He is predeceased by his two brothers, Canice, who passed away in 1989, and John (Don) in 1994. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Darleen of Scarborough ME; his son, Patrick, and his wife, Michelle, of Brewer ME; his daughter, Tara Brown, and her husband, Casey of Gorham ME; and his six grandchildren - Teagan and Clover Brown; and Kira, Simon, Benjamin, and Catherine Duffy.
A private service will be held by his family at a later date.
