Paul C. McAuliffe, age 90, of Foxborough, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home on Friday, April 2, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Ann E. (O’Hara) McAuliffe, to whom he was wed on May 26, 1956.
Born in Boston, MA on March 3, 1931, he was a loving son of the late William H. and Anna L. (Dunn) McAuliffe.
Paul grew up in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston and was educated in Boston Schools. During the Korean War, he served his country as a member of the United States Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal.
A resident of Foxborough for the past twenty-seven years, he had formerly made his home in Dedham. Prior to retiring, Mr. McAuliffe had a successful career with the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co., retiring as an Executive Vice President.
Paul was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Foxborough. He loved his family dearly and always maintained a healthy lifestyle. He was an avid New England sports fan and when younger, enjoyed playing golf.
In addition to his beloved wife of nearly sixty-five years, he is survived by his devoted daughter Theresa A. Stiles of North Easton, who was pre-deceased by her husband William Stiles. He was also the father of the late Paul S. McAuliffe, who is survived by his wife Christine McAuliffe of Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He was the cherished grandfather of Annmarie Stiles, William Stiles and his wife Ashley, Heath McAuliffe, Sarah McAuliffe, Tom McAuliffe and Ben McAuliffe. Paul was pre-deceased by his siblings.
His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, April 8th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St., Foxborough. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Foxborough.
Visitation will be held prior to services on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
