CHARLESTON,SC / STURBRIDGE,MA: Kristopher M."KJ"Johnson,34, of Charleston, SC. and formerly of Sturbridge, died suddenly, March 20th. in Savannah, GA. .
He leaves his parents, Donald H. and Laura B. (McGinley) Johnson of Sturbridge, his brothers; Sean R. Johnson of Milford, MA and Stephen T. Johnson of W.Springfield, MA, his maternal grandparents; Katherine (Nichols) and her husband A.Rives McGinley of Orleans, MA., aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Theresa (Beffre) Ouellette and her husband Arthur Ouellette and Donald H. Johnson, Sr.
Kris worked for EcoScripts in Charleston, SC.
He was born in New Britain, CT., and later graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School, Eastern CT. State University and received his Master's Degree from Nichols College in Dudley, MA. Kris was assistant basketball coach at his Alma Mater, Eastern CT. University. He then became the head basketball coach at Lawrence Academy for four years. He left Lawrence Academy to become athletic director and basketball coach at West Nottingham Academy where he led them to the 2018 championship season.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 9th at 11 a.m. at 101 Malboeuf Rd., Ware, Ma. (Covid 19 precautions must be observed).
