Sheila G. Starratt, 76

Sheila G. (Savage) Starratt, age 76, of Taunton, formerly of Norton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at St Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Richard L. Starratt, to whom she was wed on April 20, 1968.
Born in Somerville, MA on February 2, 1945, she was the loving daughter of the late Leroy and Loretta (Dalton) Savage.
Sheila grew up in Westwood, was a 1962 graduate of Westwood High School and attended Bridgewater State College. She had made her home in Taunton for the past three years and was a former 46-year resident of Norton.
Prior to retiring, Sheila had worked for over twenty years in the Admission Office at Wheaton College in Norton and was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Norton.
Sheila’s husband, children, grandchildren and lifelong friends were truly the essence of her life. She was an extraordinary cook, and nothing gave her greater joy than having friends and family gathered around her kitchen table. Sheila loved to take in beautiful Race Point sunsets during the family’s annual Provincetown vacations. Her hobbies included writing, painting, knitting and crafts, particularly making homemade cards. She also enjoyed gardening and watching the hummingbirds that frequented her backyard feeders. Her devoted pup, “Winnie” was always by her side.
In addition to her beloved husband of nearly fifty-three years, she is survived by her devoted children: Christine L. LaFrancois and her husband Thomas of Norton, and Richard D. Starratt and his wife Laura of Georgia. She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan, Sarah and Lauren LaFrancois, and Thomas and Katherine Starratt. She was the dear sister of Harry Aaron and his wife Patricia of Westwood, and the late Joanne Carriere, who is survived by her husband Paul Carriere of New Hampshire. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, April 9th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue), Norton.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 10th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Burial will be held privately at a later date at the Cataumet Cemetery in Cataumet.
