Virginia A. "Ginny" (Cooke) Carnivel, 88, of Westport, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at home. She was wife of the late Honorio P. Carnivel, her soul mate.
Born in Providence, RI, she was daughter of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Murphy) Cooke. Prior to retirement, she was an inspector for the former Mine Safety in Smithfield, RI. She was a member of the Westport United Congregational Church and the Westport Women's Club. Mrs. Carnivel enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing cards, decorating for the holidays and working outside in her yard. Her greatest joy was hosting parties and spending time with her friends and family. The love of her life was her dog Benji.
Survivors include a son: Steven Bellemore of Westport; a daughter: Cindy LaCasse of FL; 2 brothers: Richard Cooke of Smithfield, RI and Robert Cooke of Smithfield, RI; 4 grandchildren: Joshua LaCasse and wife Brittany, Zachary Taylor and wife Ariel, Pam O'Donnell and husband Shaun and Dawn Darling; a niece Darlene Taylor, who she considered a daughter and her husband Norman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Edward "Ted" Cooke.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 8:30-10 A.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
