Robert Lowell Ottman, age 82, entered into rest on March 23, 2021 at his home in Prosser, WA. He was born on August 21, 1938 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Robert and June (Harvey) Ottman, the youngest of eight children. He graduated from Fruita High School in the Grand Valley where he grew up and married Bettie Seay in 1960. Bob and Bettie had two children, Vanesa Blasdel and husband John of Paterson, Washington and Byron Ottman and wife Jo of Edgewood, Texas.
Bob played semiprofessional baseball after high school and one semester of college. He spent four years in the US Air Force in Florida and Missouri where he played baseball and basketball for the Air Force. When he returned to Grand Junction, he had a long career as an office products salesman and eventually he owned and operated his own store, Office Products, selling office machines, furniture and supplies. After moving to Texas to be near Bettie’s parents, he started his career in specialty advertising promotional products which he turned into his own business, B & B Advertising for the last 30 years and was still working until his death on March 23, 2021. Bob and Bettie were longtime Presbyterians and after moving to Prosser in 2018 became members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Along with his wife and children Bob is survived by his sister, Roberta McDaniel of Parachute, Colorado; brothers, Leland Ottman of Palisade, Colorado and John Ottman of Twin Falls, Idaho; three grandchildren, Megan Hancock & husband Jordan, Jeremy Blasdel and fiancé Denae Merkel, Jennifer Smith & husband Jason; five great-grandchildren, Katrina Chaney, Baxter Chaney, Sara Chaney, Jaedyn Smith and Julian Smith; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Richard, brother Pat, brother Nick and sister Martha.
Memorial services will be held at the Covenant Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 1st at 12:00.
