COSTIGAN, Allan James "Jimmy" 66, of Dedham, formerly of West Roxbury, was called home suddenly on April 13, 2020. Beloved husband of Jo-Ann (Davis) Costigan; devoted father of the late Brian Costigan; loving grandfather (Papa) of Rebecca, Michael, Corey and Kyleigh; beloved brother to Harlie of Medway, Peter of Brockton, Joseph Fischer of West Roxbury, Denise Aronson of Floresville TX, and the late Stephen and Glenn Costigan. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the US Army. He came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior when a stranger handed him a Bible while he was recuperating in the VA Hospital from a debilitating accident. After that, he devoted all of his earthly time ministering to people despite his physical limitations from the accident. He, along with other family members, converted an old school bus into a chapel on wheels from which they would feed the homeless at the Pine Street Inn and share the Gospel with them. Jimmy had a heart for the souls of everyone he met regardless of their status in life. He often preached on the streets of Boston and always handed out gospel tracts to anyone he met. He was filled with God’s love and he will be greatly missed. In celebration of his life, memorial service to be held Saturday, April 10, 2021, 10 am at Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury.
